Riviera owners enjoy a thrilling weekend at Supercar in Newcastle

Last weekend our clients and team embarked on a trip to Newcastle in a fleet of Rivieras to witness the V8 Supercars race around the spectacular beachside track.

The anticipation for our trip to Newcastle had been building for some time, so when we announced that our departure date had been brought forward a day due to weather conditions, our clients were thrilled at the prospect of getting to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Newcastle a day earlier than expected.

On Friday morning, our team vessel, a Riviera 58 Flybridge, departed Sydney Harbour and began its journey north. Along the way we met owners from various locations who had come together to join us in this adventure. In total, 35 people attended, with a variety of Riviera models represented.

Riviera owner, Sean Holmes, a former professional racing car driver, was among the first to arrive at Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club from Lake Macquarie. His Riviera 41 Flybridge was featured entering Newcastle harbour in a Foxtel news report covering the supercar race.

We were delighted to host some new clients aboard our company vessel, the Riviera 58 Flybridge, for their first ever on-water event with our team. This trip gave them a chance to get a taste of what it would be like to own a Riviera and become a part of the R Marine Sydney family. As they prepare for the delivery of their new Riviera 505 SUV, this was the perfect way for them to start off their first on-the-water adventure.

Once we settled into our berthing arrangements, we welcomed the owners aboard our team vessel (Riviera 58 Flybridge) for refreshments before heading to a local pub for dinner. Everyone was in high spirits, eagerly chatting away and getting to know each other better.

On Saturday, owners had a day to enjoy at their own leisure. Some took the opportunity to go to the track and watch some racing, while others explored the sights of Newcastle. In the evening, we gathered at NCYC for a private function which went on until late in the evening. Everyone had a wonderful time, and it was a great way to end the day.

After a leisurely Sunday breakfast at NCYC, our Riviera owners headed to the track to enjoy a Supercars corporate experience in a superb location, with the beach on one side and an incident filled stretch of the racing track on the other. It was a fantastic day at the track lounge watching the race and the air show. The opportunity to walk the grid just before the race was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for some owners. All in all, it was a very enjoyable day!

The climax of the weekend was a Paella night at the Wickham café adjacent to the marina. Racing team allegiances were discussed with some good-natured banter. The feedback from all who attended the event has been overwhelmingly positive and we are already planning to return next year.
