Celebrating Community and Support for a Great Cause
Last weekend, the RMYC Broken Bay hosted a spectacular Charity Raft-Up for Gotcha4life, where we proudly served as a major sponsor. The event brought together an impressive fleet of 90+ boats, of which 46 were Riviera Motor Yachts.
Whilst the weather kept us on edge, the event unfolded beautifully in the stunning location of Refuge Bay.
Riviera owners arrived on Friday, joining the raft-up a day before the main event. To kick off the weekend, guests enjoyed afternoon cocktails, courtesy of the fantastic team at Manly Spirits. Four delicious cocktails: Riviera Sunset Spritz, Riviera Explorer, Riviera Rose and Dead Calm X-Presso were delivered directly to each Riviera by our R Marine Sydney staff tender, creating a fabulous festive atmosphere. Gift bags filled with gourmet treats from Maggie Beer were also handed out to all attendees.
A solo singer-guitarist moved from Riviera to Riviera, delivering intimate performances that brought a special charm to the afternoon. Two Riviera owners were celebrating their wedding anniversary, and as a rainbow appeared on the horizon, it set a magical backdrop while guests mingled and sipped cocktails. As night fell, owners gathered in groups for dinner. The Rivieras glowed under the lights, their reflections shimmering on the water in a picture-perfect scene.
Saturday began with fresh croissants delivered to each Riviera owner by our staff via company tender. The festivities kicked off at 11 am with DJ sets and live music at the raft-up’s center, performed on the floating pontoon, the Pearl. The band’s infectious energy drew many guests onto their inflatables, bringing them near the pontoon stage to dance on the water. Our Dealer Principal, Mike Joyce, swam to each Riviera to greet the owners and even joined a water polo game with some clients.
Beyond the fun and festivities, the event served a greater purpose: raising funds for Gotcha4Life, a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to building a mentally fit future. Established by media personality Gus Worland in 2017, Gotcha4Life focuses on delivering preventative mental fitness campaigns, workshops, programs, and resources across schools, sports clubs, workplaces, and communities Australia-wide. The generosity of those in attendance was fantastic, and the impact of their donations in supporting this vital cause was truly inspiring.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed, and made the charity raft-up one for the history books. Also, a very special thank you to Peter and his crew from Manly Spirits for making delicious cocktails and Maggie Beer Fine Food for their generous contribution to supplying snacks for the gift bags.
Lastly, a big thank you to the owners of the stunning 5800 Sport yacht ‘Aimee B’ , who allowed us to display their yacht during the event. This vessel is currently listed for sale here.
