Following the success of our last year’s VIVID event, we recently organised another weekend gathering for owners and guests to enjoy Sydney’s Vivid festival from the water.

Some 14 boats, with 80 guests, arrived at our dealership, at Sydney’s Superyacht Marina, over the course of the Saturday in preparation for the cruise. Boats and stories were compared down on the dock and a few refreshments shared. Shortly after 6 o’clock the boats left the marina and grouped together for a ‘ cruise in company’ around the harbour. Everyone entered into the Vivid spirit and many of the boats were brilliantly lit to add to the atmosphere. The circuit passed Barangaroo, under the Harbour Bridge, in front of the Opera House and into Farm Cove before rounding Fort Dennison and heading home.

Each year the light show seems to improve with all the landmarks beautifully lit and some spectacular custom illuminations along the shore. The harbour was also filled with a variety of other vessels, many displaying their own light shows. Judging by the surging crowds seen onshore, viewing the spectacular from the comfort of your own boat is definitely the way to go!

Once back ashore, guests were treated to a sumptuous hot meal and a range of wines, beers and cocktails all accompanied by live music. A great time was had by all before retreating to the comfort of their cabins for a well-earned sleep.

Sunday morning saw beautiful sunshine and a coffee cart with croissants and newspapers was on hand to ensure a leisurely start to the day. The event was deemed a tremendous success and all that remained was for the owners to undertake a leisurely cruise back to their home berths bathed in perfect Sydney winter sun.
