Callum Rogers shares his recent family adventure aboard the Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht on Broughton Island
Recently our family enjoyed a coastal cruise, spending the weekend at Broughton Island aboard our Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht.
Broughton Island is only accessible by boat, about 8 nautical miles north east of Port Stephens and is part of the Myall Lakes National Park. It has long been popular for day and weekend boating trips to explore the beautiful sandy beaches ashore.
Favoured with perfect weather, we took advantage of the seasonally warm Autumn water temperatures to enjoy range of water activities, snorkelling, swimming and discovered walking tracks on shore that lead to remote beaches with stunning scenery.
We caught plenty of snapper and flathead to enjoy for the evening meal before settling in overnight to wake up to another perfect day exploring the island.
Since purchasing the boat, we take every opportunity to experience new locations and have participated in high profile fishing tournaments.
Rods were set up for the journey back home, we lost a few Marlins along the way.
